Rolling Walkers Need Tune-Ups

Nova Walker

Here’s a quick tip about rolling walkers that I just learned during my dad’s first visit with his physical therapist.

Just like we take our cars in for maintenance, walkers should be inspected for safety issues on a regular basis.  This makes so much sense, since walkers have wheels, brakes and axles just like our cars.  But I never thought about this, until his physical therapist pointed out that my dad had no brakes on the right side of his walker.  It’s pretty scary to think that his walker was moving after applying the brakes to sit down or slow down when descending down an incline.

Needless to say, it’s getting fixed pronto.
