Finally…a reality TV show worth watching!
My Grandmother’s Ravioli, which airs on Cooking Channel on Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST, is funny, charming and so entertaining. And, it’s as real, as reality TV gets. After all, the stars of the show are grandparents who speak off the cuff and from the heart.
The premise of the show is simple. The host (Mo Rocca) never learned to make his grandmother’s ravioli, so he’s on a quest to learn the family recipes of other grandparents across the country. During each episode, Mo playfully chats with the guest grandparent while cooking in their kitchen. And, by the end of each episode, he’s learned their family recipes, a few cooking tips and little wisdom about life.
One of my favorite episodes features Ruth Teig who teaches Mo how to make traditional Jewish food plus an amazing coffee cake. Ruth is a natural-born star with the most vivacious personality and sunny outlook on life. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
