One of the reasons I started this blog was to capture everyday moments that I find special and want to remember. And, this is one of them. The Culinary Director at my dad’s assisted living community, a.k.a Chef David, is a big strapping guy with a warm smile and a great sense of humor. David is an avid Oakland A’s fan and the A’s are the bay area rivals to my dad’s beloved San Francisco Giants.
Tonight is game three in a four game series between the A’s and the Giants. I knew David was going to tonight’s game but I didn’t know he would stop by my dad’s room for some friendly trash-talk wearing his green and gold A’s garb before heading out to the game.
The friendships within the halls of assisted living are what make it a home.
P.S. The game just finished and the A’s have won the first three games in the series. David has every right to gloat.
